When I was 9 or 10, Uncle Bob and my dad built all the furniture for the family room that they had just added onto our small home. Thats when my brother and I learned our way around a workshop. We started out doing small jobs and one of my first duties was to hand-plane a board down to a line that Uncle Bob had measured and drawn.  Well, that old Bailey plane was so sharp and well-tuned, and those shavings curled away so smoothly that I was transfixed. I just kept at it until I was way past the line. When Uncle Bob saw what I'd done, he didn't get mad; just winked and measured another board. 'Keep an eye on the line this time, okay Sport?' was all he said.

Useful Miniature Plane Set These are very useful for jobs where large planes won't fit.	Fine Roller Planes These are also known as 'violin planes'. Great for fine, curved work.	Versatile jig saw Powerful and well built saw. The variable speed option allows for fine work.	Blue Chip Chisel Set Hard handles take a beating. Hard steel holds an edge. These are very serviceable chisels and will work for most jobs.
Japanese Chisel Set If, like many woodworkers today, you want to try out a set of good, Japanese chisels, this is a great starting point. Get a feel for these wonderful tools without mortgaging your house.	Robert Sorby Chisel Set These are a step up from the Marples. Very well made. Nice to hold and use. And the octagonal handles keep them from rolling off your bench.	6 Piece Chisel Guard Set If you have chisels, you need these to protect your edges. Best $7 you'll ever spend.	Robert Sorby Corner Chisel This tool will help make your mortise and tenon joints fit better. It squares the corners of the mortise to 90 degrees. It's worth every cent.
Forrest Chopmaster Saw Blades I put one of these in my miter saw and it made a world of difference. I could barely feel the point when the blade hit the wood.	Forrest Woodworker II Thin Kerf Blade Once you start using this blade, no other will do. It cuts cleaner and more precisely than lesser blades. Even a mediocre tabdesaw will perform better with this blade. A good saw will shine.	Olson All Pro Band Saw Blades As with any saw, a bandsaw benefits from a good blade. You'll be glad if you get a couple that are made for different woodworking jobs.	Freud 6-Inch Pro Dado Set A six-inch set is better than an eight-inch set. You NEVER need to cut a dado that deep and by using the smaller set, more cutting energy reaches the wood. This is an excellent set and a great deal.
Rosewood Plane Handle Set If you've bought a new Stanely handplane lately, you have encountered the effects of cheap plastic handles. These Rosewood replacements make using your plane MUCH more enjoyable.	Sandvik Cabinet Craper This is the best scraper I've used. It takes a burr well and holds it longer than cheaper models. It's custom made for your router!

And the new lever release makes it a breeze to change bits. This is the one router to have if you have no other.	DMT Duo-Sharp Diamond Stones These stoned work fast and they don't dish out the way water stones do. Get both and you'll never buy another sharpening stone.	Honing Compound and Leather Strop This will put that mirror finish on your edges and make them as sharp as they can possibly be.
Jet Parallel Clamps You never have enough clamps and these are some of the most versatile clamps available.	Bessey KliKlamp Bessey makes some of the best clamps out there. These make quick work of a million woodworking tasks.	Jorgensen Hand Screw Clamps These clamps are indispensible when you need an extra hand. They're great for holding a board on-edge on the workbench, for example.	Dozuki Dovetail Saw This is an excellent saw at a great price. If you haven't used one of these, you'll love the thin kerf and the way it cuts on the pull stroke.
Starrett 6-inch Combination Square Excellent tool to keep in your tool belt. Very useful when a 12-inch square is too big.	Gerstner International Tool Chest Classic, oak tool box. The 'gold standard'.	Odd Jobs Layout Tool Fits right in your pocket and does it all.	Woodworker's Visual Handbook Filled with tips and processes that will make your woodworking jobs go more smoothly. Essential.
Cabinetry - A Woodworkers Guide Some of the best projects I've seen in print for the intermediate or advanced beginner. Well laid out and meticulously detailed plans.	Jet Hollow Chisel Mortiser Great tool for making mortises. I've tried the othe popular brand and this one is far better.	Makita Cordless Circular Saw This is the best thng since the cordless drill. Cuts through almost anything and you don't have to worry about where the cord is.	Adjustable Height, 360 Degree Roller Stand Heavy duty, 360 degree rolling support is great for any support task.
Bosch Sliding Compound Miter Saw Very precise, powerful and stable. Excellent saw.	Delta 6" Benchtop Belt Sander This is one of those tools that you might not know you need until you have it. Excellent for all kinds of jobs in the workshop.	Delta Variable Speed Grinder Variable speed is a must in one of these. Allows you to control the rate of cut.	Jet Remote Controlled Air Filter Gets the fine partcles that are dangerous to breath. The remote control makes it more likely that you'll turn it on.
Dewalt Air Compressor Portable and powerful. Great to have in the workshop and around the house.	Jet Tenoning Jig Very precise and easy to use. Gets the job done right the first time.
